David Meisel. A beautiful son. Caring, sensitive and thoughtful. A sorely missed son of Aileen, Dave and Eddie, brother of Jaclyn, grandson of Alf and Rudolf, nephew of Ian & Lorraine, Maria & Peter, Paul & Maureen, Malla, cousin of Michelle and Caitlin, extended Estonian and German family, friend of David (AKA scary Dave :-) — not) Neil and Richard of the now, not so pink pub.
David was born on 12th March, 1982 at Ninewells Hospital Dundee, Scotland to Aileen and Dave. He attended The Gordon Schools, and lived in Huntly, Aberdeenshire, much of his life before moving to Aberdeen and then to London.
David was a very independent person, willing to try anything with dogged determination to achieve whatever it was he had set his mind to. He ran a successful broadband for Kingswells campaign and helped his family puppy walk guide dogs for The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.
David studied exceptionally hard questioning everything to succeed. His love of computers took him to study the subject at Aberdeen University. Whilst studying David drove buses all over north east Scotland for Stagecoach to help fund his education. David graduated in 2007 with an excellent Bsc (Hons) in Computing Science, providing himself and his family one of his proudest moments. His last year at University was a very successful one. David enjoyed all winter sports. Including building the biggest and best igloo Huntly had ever seen! He had a lifelong love of films, music, Monopoly, Lego, Mar Bars, Mackie’s vanilla ice cream, strawberries, a room full of gadgets and a new found hobby of photography. David adored movies and shows to do with time travel and Sci-Fi, including Back to the Future, James Bond, ET, Dr Who, Star Wars and many more.
We hold in our hearts all the sons David has been to us and like and love them all. David was a unique person, his good humour and kindness will be missed. For those who really knew David and who made the effort to like and love him for who he was is the richer for it.
David achieved so much in his short life and his family are so very, very proud of him and everything he accomplished.
Go David! Everlastingly shine brightly, so we can see you watching over us all from above.
