Friends and family will have several opportunities to celebrate and interact with the Tranquility mission throughout the pre-flight, flight, landing, and operations phases. Like previous missions, the Tranquility Flight - Celestis’ second Luna mission - is expected to sell out well in advance.
Astrobotic - which in 2019 was selected by NASA for a $79.5 million contract to deliver payloads to the Moon - will conduct the Tranquility Flight.

ABOARD THE TRANQUILITY FLIGHT
The Tranquility mission logo continues the recurring Celestis theme of astronaut wings enveloping planet Earth as the Celestis payload – symbolized by the star rising in a plume of smoke – leaves the planet on its mission of purpose. The lunar surface beckons at the top of the design, inviting the spacecraft’s precious cargo – the Tranquility participants – to their final resting place. The numeric symbol “2” is prominently displayed, proclaiming the second time a Celestis spacecraft has reached the Moon, and establishing for all eternity the truly historic nature of this flight.
Every Celestis mission has its own logo and mission patch, following the tradition of creating a unique identity for each launch dating to the earliest days of the American space program. The Tranquility mission logo is from well-known designer and illustrator Eric Gignac. Eric’s portfolio also includes co-design of NASA Space Shuttle mission patches for the STS 128 and 133 missions.
