To Our Father
Guy Dagouret was born in St. Leopardin D'Augy in the Auvergne region of France. He was the second youngest of 13 children. He owned a small building enterprise which he built up with his two brothers. He adored his work, had gifted hands and everything he made revealed his passion for things well made.
His greatest passion was his family. Mother was the love of his life. Their marriage was united, perfect and they would remain true to each other from the first day to the last.
He was also a brilliant father: affectionate, loving, caring, honest, kind, good-hearted and attentive to his three daughters.
He was a person one could confide in. He was very open-minded. Everything was of interest to him: from ancient Egypt to the latest technologies.
One of his passions was to collect owl figurines and antique cigarette lighters. These he would restore with love and care, having searched flea markets to find them. His fingers turned old objects into living creations. He was also a very loving grandfather for his four grandchildren.
Everybody who knew our father describes him as a man full of courage and wisdom. He will be dearly missed by all of us, for his unexpected departure has left an enormous vacuum. He was a great man, a man with a huge heart, a great father and a great husband.
Please know, wherever you are, we will love you forever.
