Why You Had To Leave Us
by Sandra Smart, 1/14/03
Why you had to leave us, I guess we'll never know.
We had so little time together where did the time go?
We know that you'll be watching from the skies above
And that you realize just how much you're loved.
We try to make you proud of us through our strength each day.
We try to remember some of the loving things you'd say.
And when the tears start falling we know you're by our side,
So all we have to do is look up to the sky.
Your grandchildren are growing each and every day.
We know that your heart will be glowing on their wedding day.
And with their love a child they'll bring into this world,
And a part you this child shall have; be it a boy or a girl
We only wish we had time to say goodbye
Before you left so suddenly to go up to the sky.
For why you had to leave us still we'll never know,
Whenever we think of you our hearts will always glow.
